The Internet; a Friend or Foe??

Take a closer look at this picture and answer this questions below...
1. Do you see the human face or the internet?
2. Does the face resemble yours?I am guessing the answer to this should be a big NO........

The internet should not be blamed for anything especially "dumb". It contains a lot of information which is meant for us to either accept or reject it based on our intuition or other sources. To a few like the Nobel laureate Doris, it does limit our reading of books and all but guess what there are books online which are not meant for fancy but for reading.

Humans are not dumb we just have different intepretations of situations and information. The internet gives us this lengthy menu and a variety of options. The world is moving at a fast pace and in a digital way, the emergence of the internet and the PC has brought about amazing and mind blowing discoveries. It is not DUMB!!!!!

Can you cope today without a PC, a Smartphone, an I-Phone or a Blackberry?

Crowdsourcing: Life Made Easy by Clicks and Keys

Welcome back to Emy's cool blog....Thanks for stopping by!!!

Imagine you have all the solutions to any sort of problem in this world and you don't share it with anyone. What do you think you have achieved The answer is NOTHING.

Remember the old cliche......"NO MAN IS AN ISLAND"......

The idea behind crowdsourcing is basically to share information with the globe, pose questions and hope to get answers from different perspectives and viewpoints. It is like going to a Big box, picking items you are interested or in need of, reshaping these items and making use of them when necessary and then dropping it back in the same box as it was, initially or an improved version with one's new ideas.

Gathering information, generating ideas and creating different ways to solve problems should be our motive when visiting Google or Wikipedia, we should look at it as some sort of "GUIDE".
Crowdsourcing should be at loggerheads with quite a few Professors at school because it can be related to the the famous "Copy and Paste" plagiarism technique.Life is really made easy for individuals by the CTRL Button and the C and V keys.
NB: Do not attempt as there are new ways discovered thanks to Crowd sourcing.

The goal of crowdsourcing is to encourage meaningful contribution and participation in shared interests and activities by everybody who has access to the Internet.

So when next you visit Google or Wikipedia, would you be scared to apply those shortcut keys or would you be ready to give your very own contribution to the community?

The "TwIsTeD" Face-Off between Reality and Facebook

The power of having a conversation with another person be it a friend or foe is strong. There is always a flow of information which could be rated as the good the bad and the ugly. The words that leave our lips could draw people towards us or drive them away from us........

Facebook is a means of communication; it can be said to be a virtual form of communication where you do not see the person face to face but still interact through chats, messages, pictures and videos. It is highly interactive and you get to locate friends and different people all over the world.

The facebook "virus" is the world's most deadliest virus cause it has affected all over 200million people globally and nobody seems to be bothered about the epidemic. i think i can make my first 911 call in a few weeks...."lol"

The bug has given people more control and access to a lot of shared information about others such as access to pictures, videos, applications, messages and wall posts on different stuff. I mean why not, when you can monitor a friend's daily activities on a regular basis, which may be impossible in the real world, resulting from the lack time and energy.

To conquer the real world, humans require some level of intimacy with another person. Someone to share serious moments, someone to laugh with, share sober moments with...just someone to be by your side. But the geographic, time and communications barriers make this difficult. So guess what?? Facebook saves the day. In our virtual facebook world, we can interact and share a lot of information and memories with the people we want to regardless of their location. Unlike our normal world, where you are limited to your sharing of information due to a number of factors and some personal issues.

Knowledge is key and i personally think the Facebook bug should be spread around the globe to bring this connectivity and information sharing because the world is a global village.
